When it comes to Android, wear smartwatches, there’s definitely a lot of those on the market, and most of these watches come from companies that you’re familiar with like Samsung, Motorola and LG, but today we’re going to be checking out a SmartWatch that comes from a company. I knows a lot about watches, which is fossil. So today I wan na be showing you guys, the fossil Q founder SmartWatch. What’S up geeks crews, it’s me Omar from geeks collabs comm, and this video is brought to you by cell cashier and they compare. I phone prices to give you top dollar for your used iPhone.
So if you’d like to sell your iPhone check out the link in the description below so the product, I’m going to be showing you guys today is something I was sent to me free for review from fossil. Today we got the Q founder SmartWatch. Now this version I have here is the one that comes with the stainless steel band, so this one retails for 295 and I’ll put the link in the description below if you’re interested in purchasing it. So, let’s discuss what’s included in the box, so first off in the box, we have the USB charging cable. After that we have the wall adapter and last we have the charging base.
Now the base is very nice. It has a soft pillowy material in the middle section here with built-in LED lights that go from red to blue while charging to let you know when it’s done, it will take about an hour and a half to fully charge up the 400 milliamp battery. That’S built into the Q founder on most days with regular use with a significant amount of notification. It lasted me from about 7:30 a.m.
In the morning to about 10:30 p.m. at night, with around 20 % of battery life left, when I put it on to charge so now, let’s talk about the watch itself, so, first off guys, this watch is a rather large SmartWatch with a round face measuring about 47 millimeters with a case thickness of 13 millimeters, it’s a little bulky with some heft to it, which I kind of like it weighs in at about 71 grams. The case is made of stainless steel, just like the band, with the exception of the backing of it, which is made of plastic. On the left side, we have a microphone which you can use with the Google Voice feature and on the right we have the crown.
Now keep in mind this crown does not twist, but when you press it it’ll fully turn on the screen and what the long press it will actually jump to the home screen. The strap is a traditional 22 millimeter strap and if you want, you can easily remove it with the band clips on the bottom underside and you can swap it out for other regular watch straps for processing power. This watch is packing an Intel Atom processor, as opposed to the usual Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. That’S usually found in most Android wear watches, but I thought that was responsive and pretty snappy with minimal lag when through menus, it’s also packing one gigabyte of RAM and four gigabytes of on-board storage, which you can use to store music. The display on this watch is nice.
It’S a 1 5 inch LCD display, with 360 by 326 resolution and 240 PPI pixel density, it’s bright and easy to read outside and sunlight, and especially at night. It may not have the same vibrant crispness of the mm OLED display, but I doubt you’ll even notice a difference. This brings me to my biggest complaint about this watch, which is the flat tire on the bottom of the display. So this is where the Ambilight sensor is housed, and this is the same issue that exists with the motor 360 smartwatch. I just don’t understand why you would want to ruin a beautifully round display by placing the sensor there.
It just cuts off the bottom section of some of the watch faces and I would have preferred if it was on the dial of the watch as opposed to on the face of the watch as far as water resistance goes, it’s an ip67 dust and water resistance. So you can safely wash your hands or even take a shower with it on, but I wouldn’t go swimming with it, even though it can withstand water immersion up to one meter, and so this, of course, is an Android wear SmartWatch, but you can use it with An iPhone as well as long as it’s newer than the iPhone 5 with iOS, 8.2 or higher and running the Android wear app from the App Store. You won’t be able to do things like respond to text or use third-party apps, but you’ll still be able to get most of your notifications and use other features like the activity, tracker and Google Voice and speaking of activity tracking. It does feature a built-in, accelerometer and gyroscope for tracking your activities like running or walking, but it does not feature GPS or a heart rate sensor.
But this doesn’t surprise me, since it’s more of a fashionable SmartWatch and not really meant to be used while heavily working out or exercising one feature I did like using, which incorporated the accelerometer was the motion gesture which allowed you to jump between notifications by just flicking. Your wrist up and down overall, I think the cute founder is a sharp-looking SmartWatch from fossil. That’S priced right and I look forward to seeing how they improve it over the next iteration once again, I’ll have a link in the description. If you want to check it out and if you have any questions about this product post them down below in the comment section, I personally read each and every comment on all of my videos and I always respond as quickly as possible.
